LNG is shipped in specialized ships, with specially constructed tanks that can accommodate the very low temperatures of the LNG. Various types of tank designs are available, as well as various size of vessels.

There is a large fleet of LNG carriers in the World, in sizes ranging from some few thousand cubic meters up to vessels carrying close to 200.000 cubic meters of LNG.
